Default **Bike of the Month** *August 2011*

Congratulations to our first real winner! Nice bike and thank you for your submission!
Let's give him 100% of our support!

Name:Wade
User Name: 100%
Location: Washington/USA
Bike: 2010 Motorsports Edition
Class: Race

Submission:
I think I should win BOTM, as I'm a devoted S1000RR fan and do my best to ride the bike to it's full capacity. I believe in the bike's traction control and ABS, and I believe that both enhance safety! I work at Thunderhill in CA during track season and I've never seen anyone hurt on this bike! The electronic aids and power delivery really make this bike a contradiction--that contradiction being that it's the safest AND most powerful bike you'll ever have the privilege to ride!

Upgrades:
*Arkapovic Full Exhaust System
*Attack Performance Triple clampv (26mm offset)
*Attack Performance Rear Sets
*Armour Bodies Race Fairings
*Carbon Fiber Belly Pan
*Carbon Fiber Rear Fender
*Ohlins Cartridge Fork Kit
*Ohlins TTX shock
*Ohlins steering damper
*Rhino Moto frame sliders
*SBS dual sintered race Brake Pads
*Stainless / Carbon full Akra system
*Woodcraft Clip-ons
*Woodcraft rear spools
*6680 NTec rear & 6680 GP 211 Rear tires

Thanks...the S1000RR is such an incredible bike!!! I think I finally have mine set just about right. I'd love to try an LCR link on the bike, but I haven't really heard many reviews on it... I keep the DTC and ABS on and suspension tune out any difficulties that these aids create (this isn't what most faster riders are doing, but I really think it's the best way to use the bike). Already this year, the S1000RR has allowed me to improve a tremendous amount. The ABS saved my ass once going into T2 at Thunderhill when I locked up the front at crazy closing speeds on slower riders. The DTC has been amazing as well. It kicks in as my lap times improve, telling me that I need to either change my line or my body positioning on the bike... I find that the DTC is an incredible learning tool and see it as something that tells me when I need to work on my riding; I don't see it as something that is there to save my ass, although I think it has a few times this year...

Here's a fun picture of me, before the race plastics went on that was used by a trackday organization to promote their trackdays, which are some of the best around--totally open and mad amounts of track time!!!

and here's a millisecond later...me beginning to get on the gas...

August 2011 Bike of The Month!!!

WADE BUNDY

Oh, and by the way, I used ECUnleashed on the ECU and then piggybacked a PCV onto the whole deal for fine tuning...totally different bike...like a Gixxer on steroids!!!

You've never fried your boot on an exhaust system? Expensive lesson to learn!!!

Here's the before and after, but the real difference is in how fast you can ride the bike. The ECUnleashed cuts down on engine breaking, brings the fly-by-wire throttle way, way down to 3,500 RPMs, and makes your engine run as it was intended to. It makes it such that your wrist is attached to that rear wheel!!! Awesome stuff!!! I dropped two seconds my first hot lap after doing the mod. Simply amazing technology at a really good price...!!!

*This dyno reads a bit low compared to superflows...this would be well over 200 HP at the rear wheel at a shop like Seattle Ducati...!!!
