Chronology:
1. Purchased S1000rr in Germany 02/2011 to be sent to India. The first bike to be imported in a country of 1.2 billion people and a prime economy. India landing date 05/2011 (run in period + derestriction/1st oil change Germany dealer + transit by sea).
2. Subsequently, BMW Motorrad sets up operations in India. With exposure from my motorcycle ( and, of course, the stellar reputation and reviews... "subjective", so no debate), BMW India gathered additional local clientele for this model.
3. I register my vehicle locally.
4. All fine except the harsh clicking "sewing machine" sound that gets progressive over the course of 6 months.
5. With little feedback from 'new' riders and BMW India, the forum research points as "normal".
6. January 2012, California Superbike School has an track training in India in a formal certified course event with instructors.
7. Last day of the 3 day event, mid-track, the bike sounds like a twin and I stop to see a white smoking Akra Shorty (mine is the works- Quick Shift, Shorty Akra, Race ABS etc..)
8. So, now in sick bay at BMW Motorrad India. They (Germany and India) have identified that the warranty still holds ( ahem....or I would have taken them to the cleaners). They have offered to replace the engine and throttle body.
So, here are my queries that request a response:
1. Shouldn't I demand a new bike considering their reputation and the fact that the BMW Motorrad workshop in India is relatively new and not faced this issue before ( there are less than 20 S1000rr's in this massive country. Why?Because they retail for USD 50,000/Euro 45000/ GBP 40000. Crazy but true)
2. If I settle for the offer for a new engine, then shouldn't the warranty period be extended (incl. the de-restriction and 1st oil change etc.. costs) for another 2 years?
3. Anyone else with these issues, please em me at:

Appreciate.
