Default I got tired of waiting for someone to sell these turnsignals...

I'm sure most of you have seen the Youtube video of a guy that made these a while back. I tried to contact the guy with no luck. So I decided to make my own but in a different way. I used a flex board with 9 surface mount Super Bright Amber LEDs going around the diameter facing out. These things are way brighter then what you see in the video and can bee seen almost at every angle possible. take a look....

I agree with the open hole, but the main reason I did this mod was because the stock turn signals dont give way if you go down or they get hit hard. My buddy let my bike slip while loading it into an enclosed trailer the laid up against a way and since the stock signal didn't give it CRACKED the fairing just behind the signal.

I'm working on designing up a part to fill the hole and be flush with the fairing. then I will send it out to get a cost to get some machined out of Black ABS or Delrin, so I wont have to paint it. Another option in stead of paint is to put a sticker over the filled hole. I need to tink some more about what I want to do about it.

No fault codes at all and I didn't use any extra resistors. The flex strips do have small resistors already to make them 12 volt. So I guess thats all what was needed. Flash rate is perfect as well.

probably the biggest issue was finding a Clear Epoxy that was UV resistant and wont yellow over s
time in the sun. That was the pricest part of the whole project. The set probably cost me close to $100 in parts.

Great Job. Saw somthing similar on a coworkers Z3. Psoff could you supply a complete parts list and links to buy. Im sure a "how to" write up would be appreciated as well. Looks good.

Yup that looks really good, great job! I wonder if they can be used with Watsen's? Maybe there will be too much resistance like the guy who tried to install the bike monkey tail light and Watsens in the back. Guess there is only one way to find out.
