The lower part near the mounting bolt doesn't buzz as much as the upper part so it may be too thin for the task at hand.

That was me, my 'fix' for the RH footrest is:
If you look at the mounting there is a large washer on the outside of the mount and the exhaust on the other side, these 'squash' the rubber mount
If you take the mounting bolt out there is a steel spacer through the middle of the rubber, just add a thin washer the same inside and outside diameter as the spacer and fit it next to the spacer, this lessens the tension on the rubber mount from the exhaust and large washer on the outside of the mount and reduces the vibes considerably. Dead easy and cheap

I should go and do Mike's spacer upgrade sometime this winter. Not a big issue for me, but one that may help overall.
I've yet to hear what Don at Vibranator came up with when he posted here about using their product on the S1000RR handlebars and were working diligently on it.
Maybe he gave up?

Somehow i dont get the footpeg -washer trick.
Can someone please explain again where exactly he placed that extra washer?
What i did:
I unboltet the exhaust from the footpeg. The set-up would be: bolt, then a conical big washer, then the thick rubber gasket, then the exhaust hanger, big washer, and then the nut (i've got the akra short pipe installed).
Now, i placed a small M8 washer between the rubber gasekt and the exhaust hanger in the back .. that leaves about a 1mm space between rubber gasket of the footpeg an the exhaust hanger bracket. Unfortunately, the vibrations stayed the same.
Anything i'm missing here?
I placed the washer where the red arrow points to, behind the footrest.

No thats it, it worked fine on mine, you could also try loosening the clamp between the silencer and cat housing whilst the exhaust is hot in case there is any tension on the rubber mount from there

I went with supporting my upper body with inner core and holding "lightly" with the paws and it made a HUGE difference. Added some Throttlemeisters more for the cruise setting but they seemed to help out to a small degree.

My .$02, I have 2964 miles on my street driven only bike.
I do have an Akra Slipon.
I have stock grips.
I ride agressively.
I have NEVER noticed any vibration that has ever put me off.
Their is something wrong w, your bikes if they vibrate so much that you have to go to such great lenghts to squelch it.
I guess I was 1 of the lucky 1s and got a good S 1000 RR.
I also clean and lube my chain every 500 miles and clean my bike every time I ride it.

So far I've changed the bar ends to R&G Racing, and added extra weight to these, and also using Renthal grips as I find these softer than the BM ones....but I'm still suffering far too much vibration. Was out for a ride today, and swapped bikes with a friend. He tried my S1, and agreed its bad!!!!
I've had the bike back to the supplying dealer, and they haven't found anything wrong with it
As it stands, I'm struggling to ride anymore than 20-30 miles before my hands are numb. Seen the 10 page thread with various suggestions, but nothing seems to be curing it. Only thing I've thought of today is I have R&G Aero crash protectors fitted, torque'd up to R&G specs. My train of thought is if these are'nt tight enough, would this cause excess vibration of the frame / engine, thus transferring via the frame to the bars?
I'm running out of options, other than selling and getting another Fireblade
I've emailed BMW UK, but still waiting a response. Has anyone else found any other fixes for this? Is it worth tightening up the R&G crash protectors?
Any help would be appreciated!!

Bent crank can cause this vibration. Seen it done on CBR's that has been abused
