New Akrapovich for 2017.

So I went to the International Motorcycle Show in DC today.
The new RR had a redesigned Akrapovich exhaust on it.
The BMW guy that was there told me that to meet the new European emissions regulations, they had to increase the size of the catalytic converter. Because of that he wasn't sure if this will fit the 15-16 models.

I forgot to take pictures so I got some from a friend who went to the NYC one recently.
I wish they had made it a bit shorter but it's very nice looking, certainly beats the current one, imo.
He is going to post a video on youtube, I'll update the post once it's up.

I saw those and my first thought was that it looks very similar to the stock 2015/2016 exhaust. I prefer the current 15/16 aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust a little better. I am curious about the dyno numbers though.

Doubt it would fit. It has 2 ports for a start. 15-16 has 1. Could always cut it off and weld it shut. The other size port looks the same to me.

It's a little more "evil" looking than stock, so that's partially an offsetting factor in its favor. And the gray/black RR looks pretty fine...

Thanks for posting...

I really like the new exhaust! Colour looks pretty good too as the media release photos left me a bit unsure. Hopefully the other 17's look schmick as well

Just as I go to fit the R1 muffler then this comes out. If the main port fits then I might get one and cut and grind the smaller port back. Will bolt right up I reckon. Carbon cover would cover the small port too.

This Akra definitely looks better than the one I have on my '15. I personally still prefer the looks of the R1 slip-on converted. You should keep it if you go that route.
