I wanted to get some feedback regarding my oem rearsets powder coated, or getting ebay rearsets for a similar price what the powder coating would cost. I come from Ducati forum, and some claim that those ebay ones are not that bad, as long as you use some locktite so they don't come apart, lol. Go figure. I wanted to see what this forum thinks and if anyone has any experience. I already took mine off the bike, just trying to decide.
about 150, wouldn't mind going 200 if I knew it was worth it. Last rearsets, I paid 100 for coating for front and back, it seems now it's only for front, so it would cost me less.
+1 for the Attack Performance rearsets from me. Have had the opportunity to have tried the OEM, California Superbike(made by Gilles I think) and AP. AP is my favorite and they're locally made.
it seems like the pictures on these 100$ sets, are the same per pictures as some sets which are sold for 250-300$ on ebay. seems like someone just re-branded them. I might have to give them a try. Thanks fellas. it will be throwing money if I don't like them, but it's not like I am not throwing money at oem coating anyhow.
CSS pegs are black, will provide great grip and more surface area. Pegs get most friction so no worries about powder coat fading. Only actual rearset needs to be powder coated if black pegs are not enough. It's the functional and practical thing to do.
Obviously Attack rearset is the way to go but OP's budget won't make it happen.
Still missing the point. OP wants black rearsets. In which case, I would just coat OEM rearsets if AP is out of the price range. You never know if geometry of these eBay rearsets will work well with the shifter.
Another option - I just got (after a 3 month wait) the Gilles Tooling turn joints (RGK-330's) & foot pegs (UF-16's) for my MY13 RR. You can get these in black and are very grippy plus they retain the ability flip up like the OEM's.
