Thinking of buying a demo bike ...

What should I look out for? It has a little over 1k on it and looks clean as a whistle It's a 2011 (white) and going for $15,000 CAN.

Is it a S1000RR? With 3 years warranty you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Well maybe just me flyin by.

the 2011's are not as good as the 2012 and up. (hope I don't start an argument with someone for saying this).

2012 they made a few changes that made a big difference.

You can get a 2012 NEW (not demo) for around 12k. I've seen it somewhere here in California. Can't remember where.

15k is a rip off. First of all, it's 2 years old, USED.
Regardless of them saying it's NEW, it's used. It's been ridden. The breakin period has probably not been done properly on that bike.

I don't know you, but i'd hate to see you make a big mistake like this. PLEASE DONT BUY IT.

He's looking in Canada, they are a bit more expensive up here, and harder to come by. It doesn't sound like a really good deal tho. I would try and find a '12 for a discount. Where did you find the demo bike?

Phone around. I had a dealer in Montreal offer a brand new 2012 bluefire for 16k. Might be able to push to 15k.

Guys shipping costs would eat up any thing he would save, not to mention no warranty on a U.S origin bike. How many 12's were affected by the rod bolt recall? Can you buy a new one that wasn't torn apart? You buying from FFun Motorsports? Make sure you ask about all thier "after sale" charges like doc fee and any other b.s. I walked from there because they didn't want to drop thier documentation fee on a near 30K motorcycle after taxes.

Thanks for the input guys and yes, I'm from Canada and the bikes up here or should I say, everything is more expensive up here, then US prices.

But I'm just thinking of saving more money for a 2012 s1000rr and buy a bike in fall or next winter. The sales rep said they're more moveable on the price but not for the 2013 models.

I've got a 07-600RR and that'll keep me rolling till then

I want the bike because of it's aesthetics and goodies. I'm not too fond that it's the fastest bike (lots of fast bikes out there) but that's a bonus, lol!!!!!
