sweet new website that tells you how fast you can ride for a given turn on the street

Hey everyone.

20 hours ago I had an idea. To create a tool that will allow you to input your favorite road on google maps and it will tell you how fast you can go around each bend for a given lean angle.

This is a really cool website. I checked out a road that I have ridden on a lot and always figured I was going fast enough but only to find out that I can double my speed.

This is really a good reference especially if you are riding the roads for the 1st time. This way you could at least have a starting point and see it in perspective.

That's so awesome you like it! It means you GET THE IDEA!

The final goal is to do an iphone/andoid app.
It will automatically detect the road you are on, and call out oncoming turns...
example:
"in 200 feet there is a 90 degree left hand turn at 55mph"

It will even detect bumpy roads and potholes and send it to a database so next time a rider is on that road - the system can alert of bumps and potholes.

Trying to find an iphone/android app developer who is willing to do this for free and for the fun of it. Just the way I'm doing this.

This is not for money - just a toy for ALL of us to enjoy

I know you say you want to make the app for free, but you could be missing out on potentially $1000s an app like that would sell like mad.

There is time to make money, and sometime it's good just to to give back to fellow enthusiasts.

If anyone wants to make an app that does this and charge money - by all means I have no issue with that!

That's very gracious of you sir, once again, well done.

The only thing I can offer in return is a link to this app for yourself and any other users that haven't seen it, or don't have something like it already.
It plots your route on a iphone map plotting speeds, acceleration and deceleration, but sadly not lateral acceleration.
It would make a great companion to you program.
