2012 recall question

I read that VIN sequence starting ZL16475 or higher are not affected by the recall.

When I purchased my bike 3 months ago new at the dealership I asked the salesman about the recall and if my bike is effected by it and he said no.

I'm looking at my VIN right now and I have ZL163xx

So, does that mean my bike is effected? Would they sell me a brand new bike that needed recall work straight off the showroom?

If its in the affected range of VINs and you just got the bike, then it almost 100% for sure means that BMW have already fixed the issue (either at the factory, or the dealership) before letting you have it.
Wouldn't hurt to double-check though.
