I went through the exact same. Hear me out.
Question 1: are you able to hit the MODE BUTTON and cycle through the available modes: rain, sport, race, slick, and user.
If yes, they have installed the coding plug. If no, Return to dealer.
Question 2: after the initial service, have you taken the bike past 9,000 rpm. Like 10, 11, 12 etc. if you are not able to go past 9k rpm, then they have not removed the limiter.
The shift light that comes on at 7k rpm is from the factory. You can change it by yourself. See page 111 in owners manual .
