Street, Track or Both?

Bought my 2012 in March for the street. Had visions of someday taking it to the track. Did my first track day at Laguna Seca in October 2012. Holy crap it was so much fun I did my second track day at Laguna Seca in November.

S1K's on track at Laguna Seca

If you are on the fence about taking your S1K to the track, don't be. Get out there and give it a try, take your time, learn the lines, watch those that know better and just have FUN!

So, all that being said, I'm in for street and track now!

Sorry little late,

For the record it was going to be my first on the BMW, but it was terrible. Rained the whole weekend.
We'll see how the next one goes in January.

I would ask the opposite. I've done three CSS schools so I've had a chance to use the S1k on the track and it is brilliant. But is it really a usable street bike for a 4 hour day of twisties or would a K1300S be better?

I'm just concerned that the lack of comfort on the road would mean I don't use it much except for the track and I have a 675R track only bike.

Definitely track only for me. There's no way to ride on the street in the S1K's comfort zone without a death wish (unless you own your private twisty road : wait a minute, isn't that the definition of a track?). On the other hand, the k13 is perfect on the road.
