My first bike was a k6 600. I have a big spot in my heart for suzuki. I enjoyed that bike to no ends I want them to do really well with this bike. It might be just the concept but I love the direction its going. I just cant wait to hear more solid info on weight, hp, and power delivery along the powerband.
Its been quoted as the "hardest" accelerating gsxr1k ever, and the "lightest" gsxr1k ever. that gets me excited. the price seems to be on point too. If they keep all the LED features including the lights it'll pay off big time. we (s1000RR) have nearly 20k dollar bikes and we cant even get LED headlights here in the states. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my s1kRR, no regrets here......... wouldn't mind owning an L7 Gsxr1k tho.:wink2:
just curious to see what others think.
I might have posted this in the wrong forum section mods feel free to correct.
not ALL suzuki customers kill the brand. Unfortunately they are the major stereotype/sponsor for squidish activities.
either way i noticed the most recent(2016) gsxr1k comes in at about 448 lbs. and I believe the 15/16 s1krr with the forgies comes in at 445ish if im not mistaken. So to be the lightest gsxr1k ever made has me very interested.!
Agreed with OP. There is a place in my heart for Suzukis. I kept my 01 GSXR1k when I bought my S1000rr and still ride it as much if not more than my BMW.
it'll be an awesome bike, hey they all are these days.
The showa bff fork and bf shock looks like a trend (016 10r and now L7 gixxer) at that price point, Im guessing the new blade will also use them in o17 ?
I am so excited about this bike! I am just as excited as the day I went to pick up my RR. I'm looking everyday to see what more "solid" information trickles out about the zuki.
Since I can't search and crawl the web everyday, I'm hoping anybody on this forum that happens across information might post it in this thread.
I wonder what the other color will be. I'm not to fond of this color scheme, but as for the new design in motor and other things, I can't wait until the 1K shoot out with all the other bikes to see how it compares.
The BMW s1000rr really set the standard where bikes should be. The others are just now catching up.
MC News: Hayden describes ‘enticing’ new Honda for 2017 Wednesday, 25 November 2015 13:05 Nicky Hayden has said that the introduction of a new Honda Fireblade was one of the most attractive elements in his two-year WorldSBK deal for 2016 and 2017. Although a new CBR1000RR SP has been hinted to WorldSBK.com by team owner Ronald ten Kate but not yet confirmed, Hayden is sure that this will be the case for his second season. “Yeah for sure, that was one of the big enticing points for me,” the former MotoGP World Champion is quoted as saying by Australia’s MC News - See more at: WorldSBK
All of the bikes are getting so good these manufacturers had better innovate and produce great bikes if they want to sell anything. I am glad to see the days of going 5-7 years with doing nothing more than a few cosmetic changes and a new color scheme
The 2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000 will be available in April in Metallic Triton Blue, Pearl Mira Red and Metallic Matte Black No. 2/Glass Sparkle Black, with an MSRP of $14,599. $500 more for ABS.

Saw that earlier, found it hard to believe they are bringing in so many different 1000cc GSX-R's.
Standard bike available in 3 color schemes
ABS bike 2 schemes
R Bike 2 schemes.
I'd be so tempted if it had cruise control. Old loyalties die hard. The new Aprilia is drool worthy too. As long as the HP4 is my track bike, I'll be keeping the '15 or next gen for the street.
What I can't pass on is the KTM 500 EXC-F set up as a supermoto. It should be in at the end of the month. Hope. Hope.:grin2: Hopefully the cops will think I'm on a unicycle since the front end will be in the air after every bump. LOL.

My first bike was a K6 600 too! I'm a 'Zuki guy at heart as well, though I have love for all motorcycles... I hope this new GSX-R1000 does well too, it looks to be an amazing machine!!
Coming to BMW from an 07 GSXR 1K (about the best 1K Zuk ever made) I'll be thrilled if the new 1K rocks the house. However, I try not to buy a bike the first year out of major development (all the MFGRS seem to have 1st year gremlins). If I could just find an 07 engine in decent condition, I'd keep it as my spare trackbike (blew mine at NCM in August).
Initial RR World report from Phillip Island: Chassis good enough to handle as well as the R1. Enough power to keep up with the Kawasaki and BMW and the best traction control available. "The king is back and he is coming for his crown."
Stay tuned! The liter bike world is a changing. My words. Not theirs.
