Unless you are using the bike to run 210 mph on the salt flats run 16/46. Gearing changes do not affect the speedo or mileage since that is recorded with the wheel speed sensors on the S1000RR.
I think the absolute best sprocketing would be hardened aluminum rear with a lightened heat treated steel front. It would not matter if you had an Akropovic or not.
Back in the day, you geared your bike to hit redline in top gear on the fastest portion of the individual track. That should not have changed. Electronic rider aides will prevent you from looping and ending up on your back if you are lacking skills in your right wrist. :wink2:
