Also like Bitter below my straps go to the sub frame as I have no rear pegs.
The bag moves forward if you tighten the straps too much. They should have no slack but not be too tight. I am happy with the bag since I followed these instructions. However, the straps do rub against the painted tail section. I did not realize that initially und now one edge has paint loss (just the edge).
The BMW tail bag is approved for speeds up to 130mph. And here in Germany you drive that speed daily. I wonder if other manufacturers trust their luggage at this speed.

There is a whole post in this also. Search for tank and tail bags. I use the cycle guys collapsible tail bag size 5. Look up www.thecycleguys.com

Here's a few low-rez shots. This isn't a replacement for BMW's tail bag but it's what stays on my bike 90% of the time.

I use a cycle guys bag #5 as well. I bought mine on amazon for under 60 bucks it looks awesome seconds as a passenger padded seat when not used as a bag.

Hey M.A.C.,

I was wondering if this bag interferes riding position in any way? It seems like its back enough where it will not, but just wanted to make sure. Also, does it have a separate compartment inside? Thinking of using it for two bottles of water and a cell phone, but worried about condensation if its only one compartment.

Thanks

The bag doesn't interfere with my daily riding. It's not very big and there's only the single compartment. It does have a key ring quick release hook inside.
