I wouldn't be overly concerned about it, **** happens. I would just ride your bike until you hear something, I plan too. I'm at 1450 miles currently (bought about a month ago) and have had no issues whatsoever. If your bike does have an issue, it is covered under warranty and will be fixed.

Hey! This is no time for sensible comments!

I saw mine at the dealer today -- I'm try to "be Zen about it."

Now I would probably be a little frustrated if I had one sitting at the dealership I couldn't ride! Hang tight man.

Also, I spoke with my dealer and they said they would know more on Monday morning. The salesman also said they would give me a call to let me know what they find out. So I will keep you guys posted when I hear something.

My buddy at my dealership said it was improper torque on the connecting rods. Around 1400 S1000's are effected. The motor will have to be torn down and inspected and the bolts torqued to the correct specs.... I just had my 600 mile done today when he told me this. He also said he can't sell the 5 he has on the show floor until he finds out which VIN's are effected.

Crap...trying to decide if I should just park her and wait for more info or get out and enjoy the great weather this weekend. Also have about 370 miles on her and pretty sure I would be awful close to being ready for first service after riding this weekend. *sigh*

The upside is once it's dealt with won't have to worry about the con rod issue.

My engineering knowledge tells me that if it was affected it would have gone at real low miles. I have a feb build and 500 miles on and is running fine. ....(fingers crossed!!)

He told me to go enjoy the bike. The ones that have been found to be backing off the torque are higher mileage 12's. Around 4-5k miles on them... Heck, if something bad happens it is under warranty....

True, but I'd still rather not have an engine taken apart by a dealer!! Factory fresh is the way itbshouldvstay !!

Mine is a Nov built with about 350 miles. I havent noticed anything. What would be the signs to look for torque issue?
