Motociclismo 2012 Liter Bike Test Results

Looks like the 2012 BMW S1000RR did pretty good in regards to lap times, finishing in 1st place with both test riders. The suspension / frame geometry changes are apparently working out, along with the slightly lower final gearing and mid-range power/torque increase, at least for track riding.

Both test riders were >1.3 secs faster on the S1000RR than the Panigale . This makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Bring on the shootouts!

Yeah, after reading how well the S1000RR beat it's other liter bike rivals in a track test performed by Performance Bikes magazine (UK), I figured it would fare pretty good against the 1199 at the track.

Please also notice that the R1 has aftermarket Akrapovic which make it lighter and with more power.
The 1099 makes 169rwhp which is very very good for a V2 bike.

Must be the frame, or lack there of. I thought about a Panigale, but with all the new ideas on that bike, I wasn't about to be a R&D customer for $27K ( I would've bought the Tricolore).
