Default BMW Rider apparel

When I was at the dealer today I found out that they are offering 0% finance on all BMW apparel and accessories. There is a minimum spend of £750 but then it's 0% for 24 months. You don't need to buy a bike to qualify either.

I need to replace my helmet before the end of the coming year and could do with a new all weather jacket so it looks like a good deal. I quite liked the BMW Double R helmet but I'm an Arai man and am a bit nervous of trying something else. The fit was good and it was well made but it doesnt have Arai on the front! Their System 6 flip front also looks good but it's not very sporty. It has a flip down sunvisor and can be fitted with BMW's bluetooth kit for intercom, phone or streaming music. Not too shabby.

Does anyone have a BMW helmet? Is it any good? I believe they are made by Schuberth so they can't be too bad. Let me know what you think.

Whats the big deal with it saying Arai on the front? Their technology is now quite old. And have those stupid bits of plastic on the sides.
Nothing wrong with Schuberth helmets I would guess (I asked who made that helmet today). I would like one if it didnt say BMW on it

No big deal about the absence of the oval its just what I've used for years and I trust them 100%.
What's the big deal about having a BMW sticker on it?

I believe the BMW stickers can be peeled off, except on the Double R in motorsport colours. You'll be left with the teeny roundel at the back though which I quite liked.

Its part of the paint on this one but other forums I've been on say that those in plain colours, mainly System 6 granted, have peelable stickers. I like that one but if I got rid of the S1000 I'd look foolish on a Yamaha wearing a BMW lid in Motorsport colours. Then again I'm wearing a RX7 Corsair Edwards rep in Yamaha anniversary colours!

It's not just a sticker one the front and their technology isn't old. They're helmets are the bet due to the build quality. It begins with the design of the EPS liner up to the way they lay the Kevlar and fiberglass shell. As far as the side pods thy don't get rid of those because if they make it like other Shoei helmets or HJC or AGV's where the windscreen is flushed then they'd have to remove a portion if the helmet shell making it thinner in those areas. That's y they don't integrate podless side covers. Trust me I got 10 helmets all kinds and I'd take my Arai any day.

I bought a system 6 on a whim when I picked up my S1000RR in 2010. I've got a collection of helmets but now only use the system 6 on the road. The aerodynamics is brilliant, its quiet and the flip-up feature is a revelation. Never thought I would say it but it's better than my Shoeis.

Is it available through international ordering?

I hope the bmwusa throw out a promotion like that, I would be seriously interested.

I don't think it is something they're going to roll out internationally. As I understand it the UK dealers are underwriting the offer. Rather than giving a 5 or 6% discount to customers they are kind of signing that 5 or 6% over to BMW finance in order for them to offer the 24 months interest free deal. Unfortunately that means no multiple item discount but I think it looks like a better offer anyway.
Ask your dealer about it.
