Default New RR has first problem

My RR was scheduled to be delivered today at noon. Dealer called me about 11:30 a.m. to inform me that the bike was not going to be delivered to me today. He said when delivery driver started bike to load into truck the check engine light came on. They called it a CEL (check engine light). Service department could not clear the code - was told BMW tech support not open on Saturday. Service manager cancelled delivery.

They do not have any idea what is going on. Will be in touch with BMW on Tuesday.

So I have my first warranty issue (I have sat on the bike) and have not so much as even started it. I guess BMW should have set the rev limiter to 0 - then all would still be good.

I'm tellimg myself to stay calm/mature and wait until they call me next week to hear what the problem is/was before thinking my entire world just sucks.

Does not help that I took today off (yes I work on Saturday's) and had planned to take the RR out for a little rideski as soon as it was delivered. The weather and roads are really just fantastic for this time of year.

So I know the 2012 RR's have had all the subtle upgrades - to bad mine did not get the "new bike should run like the wind" standard map.

I hate to say: so the saga begins.

Your forum friend - the guy that kinda sorta has a new RR.

Bruce

That stinks, sorry to hear about your bike. It will be worth the wait.

If it will get stock there for more than a week, you can request brand new machine... I think if you'll talk to BMW N.A. they will resolve your issue... They're very good when it comes to customer support...

Well right now I'm just gonna wait to see what the dealer tells me early next week and then go from there.

I had a simliar thing happen to me when i bought my 2009 corvette in June of 2009. I was driving the thing home and the Airbag light came on. I took it back to the dealer the next day. They asked me when did it come on? I said well i was "agressively Accelerating" and it came on. He was what does that mean? I said the pedal was to the floor and the airbag light came on somewhere between 150-160mph. He said oh well we cant simulate that to get the airbag light to come back on. I laughed.

I'd refuse it. I wouldn't accept delivery of a vehicle already throwing codes unless it was unique or I was present to see all work done to ensure it was something minor (loose connection etc).
