I am just wondering everybody's age, height and weight. I am 55, 5'7" and 170 lbs. Just wanted to gauge if I could be comfortable on a S1K RR. I sold my 2009 K1300S last December because of medical reason. Once I get cleared by my cardiologist, I plan on getting a 2012 S1000RR.
Probably best to test drive one. There folks on the board here up a bit over 6' tall and seem to find the bike fine. In general the bike is more comfortable (consensus) than it's competitors. But comfort will depend a bit on your riding style and core strength too. The more weight you allow to be put on your wrists, the more they will bother you. If you pinch the tank when necessary with your knees and you have a relatively strong/healthy core, less weight will be transferred to the clip-ons.
If you' been on other superbikes and you were OK w/them, you'll love this one IMO.

I'm 5'7'' and 165 lbs. and sold my K1200RS to get an S1. Sold my R1100RT to get the RS. I am going backwards in my bike selection - or is it that I am enjoying it more and more as the years pass.
It fits me perfectly, and feels as if I am sitting in it rather than on it. It is a damn sight easier to push through the twisties.
Well, I had a 2007 Ducati 1098 before the K1300S. I sold the 1098 because of the aggressive riding position. So, I am not completely new to superbikes.

And I have my nitro with me wherever I go.
It's a very similar riding position to the 1098. I've ridden a couple of 1098's and I prefer the riding position on the duc but I like it a little more extreme. Probably best to talk to your dealer and see if you can organize a decent test ride.
