What did it dyno before the mods?

What have other bikes dyno'd on that particular dyno?

Just a number by itself doesn't really mean as much as how relative it is to other data points.

All dynos read a little bit different. You should only use that hp number from that dyno to compare the difference in gain or loss of different mods. Did you do a base run on that dyno when your bike was all stock? If so what was your gain?

You could always try your bike on. Different dyno and I'm willing to bet you will see atleast a 5hp difference

Every Dyno different and conditions vary where ever the Dyno resides. you needed a base run.
Makes me laugh when horsepower nuts spoont over their 191.324 whp. This means nothing in retrospect. +2 hp diff for arguments sake when another guy got 181.324 whp but had a 10 hp difference from his base run.

Bigger question......does all the mods make you a better rider. Careful, you may get punked by a dude in T-shirt and shorts on a 600.

I am disappointed in your post which does not include crucial information which we need in order to empathize with you. Please provide some perspective in terms of:

a) brand of dyno
b) your bikes stock dyno #s
c) what other stock bikes dyno on the same dyno you used.
d) was there any sort of correction # used (for altitude, humidity etc)

Would you be this disappointed if you found out that a stock S1000rr put down 160 whp on the same dyno? Dyno #s are just that.........a number.

I heard a quote from a WSB tuner who said he pays no attention to single bike HP output...he said without a baseline of similar bikes on the same machine at the same time and the most important (his words) the same tires the dyno test is meaningless...he said by far different tires were the biggest variables on rear wheel dynos.

Great points... I'll add - same pressures too!

DoubleR,

As all the guys said, dyno numbers don't mean anything unless u have a base stock number or a base moded number.

How about if i tell you that my bike 2010 S1000RR with ARCS exhaust system + MWR airfilter + Bazzaz ZFi + ZAFM made 209 whp on Mainline dyno and my friend's hayabusa 2010 with full Akrapovic exhaust + Pipercross airfilter + Bazzaz ZFi + ZAFM made 208 whp on the same dyno

The moral of the story is that we didn't have a base stock number to compare with, but we had a base moded numbers with just setting AFR to 12.7 and then tune it on the road and not on the dyno by a guy who claims to knows how to play with Bazzaz. So when we went to dyno bikes to see what we got from these setting, i got max of 196 and my friend Hayanusa got 203!! imagine the shock on my face when i saw these number because i know that the moded S1000RR with bolts on is stronger than a Hayabusa with bolts on.

So when we did a proper dyno tune on the same dyno by good tuner, i got a max of 209 and my friend's Hayabusa got 208. That means i gained 13 hp from a proper tune and my friend gained 5 hp and more in the mid range.

I bet 1000 times these numbers would be totally different on a dynojet dyno, so you should be looking at how much you gained and not how much you want to reach

Send a message to Mujahed1969, he is from kuwait and he will be glad to help you with tuning your bike.

Just make sure that the negative of the Bazzaz is along with the negative of the battery, otherwise you'll never get a proper TPS numbers, and the TPS calibration should be done with full throttle on a dyno and not with the bike just switched on.

Hope this helps

And just to add to the discussion ... I've tuned a many Gen. 2 Busas on my dyno with the simular set up listed. All of them were in the 190 wHP range with pump gas. (My dyno is a basic dynojet clone).

Things went so fast so we didn't put the bike on the dyno before the mods
(( SHAME )).
2011 Kawi Zx10 with full akra and k&n filter no (PCV OR BAZZAZ) got 183whp.
2010 Hayabusa with full CT Brocks performance system and k&n filter + PC got 176whp.
the problem now is once I start the engine a strong smell of gas comes out from the muffler!
I think the bike is running rich, maybe I need a Bazzaz Autotune (self mapping) as a final touch.
