Default Keychain Beating Up Tank Plastic?

The next mod I'm looking into is a key chain...

I hear it adds about 5-10hp! In all seriousness though, for those out there that have key chains does it beat up your tank plastics? I see videos of them bouncing around in the wind and it kinda worries me. I wanna stay away from metal key chains obviously but I want something a little more substantial in my pocket.

I have my motorcycle key along with its alarm fob on a quick disconnect type key chain.. so when the key goes in the ignition, the rest goes in my pocket... nothing dangling.

I have a BMW one that has a rubber ring around it to keep it from dinging up the paint.

If youre worried, why not just put a patch of 3M clear tape up there to protect it.

I forgot about 3M tape that's a good idea.

Just don't use any key chains on any of your bikes keys. What is the purpose of a key chain? To keep keys bundled together so that you don't lose them. Why would you want to have other keys, besides the key chain, banging on your tank plastics? If the purpose of a key chain for you is only to "dress up" your key, and you're only going to have your bike's key on that key chain, then simply don't use a key chain, or like a wise person posted in an earlier reply, use the type of key chain that allows you to quickly disconnect your motorcycle key whenever needed.

I have the rubber BMW circle fob that Cross Country BMW handed me with the key attached. Without the fob, loose key would rapidly disappear in my gf's chaos theory organization (seriously, I found my dogs rabies tags in the spare cookie jar).

Won't damage anything on the bike and I'm positive every time I go to the dealer they'll gladly hand me another. And the fob emphatically tells my gf to eave that my exactly where she finds it or face dire consequences (she goes to the gym with me )
