Is there anywhere to store a face shield...smoke and clear for the day/night switch? I hear people say they take them with them when they know they'll be riding after dark....so where do you carry them?

Typically tailbags or backpacks. Except for the track, I just wear sunglasses.

I try and stay away from sun glasses only because of impacts doing more harm to my eyes/nose/face/etc. But I too haven't been able to come up with a good solution. Depending on the helmet you wear, you could look into a Pinloc visor. They have them for Arai's... I was gonna look into them, that way you could have your tinted pinloc on and then at night, peel it off and stick it under your jacket (it's just a film).

I typically try not to ride much at night. I ride with a smoked visor all the time and store a set of clear sunglasses. That way if I get caught out later I can lift the visor and wear the glasses. I guess it depends on how much you ride after dark.

I'm w/you on that... not much into the night time thing. Of course last season, racing and the track in general seemed to get in the way of any riding on the street... probably safer that way anyway - haha

Lol after putting the alarm in there isn't enough space to store a pack of cigarettes

I ride with a mirrored shield day / night. Because the mirroring reflects sun glare, the shade tint isn't as dark as my smoked shield and my visibility (to me) is fine. There is another option though: transition tint shield.

Camt remember the manufacturer, but there is one who sells shields that transition inn sunlight.

I have a Bell STAR with the Transitions visor that gets clear at night. Love the helmet, love the visor.

You can get a small think pouch to put a visor in, which you wear round your waist. Its very thin so you can put it under your leathers even. Some biking fanny packs have a pocket for a visor too.

Slap some velcro on the tank and get a full sized tank bag. You'll need it if you like to carry anything.

I too got a Bell helmet with the Transitions visor for exactly this type of situation. For commuting to work I know Ill get in when the sun is up but it will be dark by the time I leave. No need to carry an additional visor. This thing works AMAZING! You cant even tell when it changes until you take the helmet off.

When Im taking a nice sunday ride I wear my Shoei with smoked visor. I know Ill be home before it gets dark on that one.
