Default photos with build dates on dealer site

Saw some photos on Max BMW website with build dates on 2012s. I think I saw November 2011 on one?

Yes, mine came in and was built today. I will be picking up Thursday or Friday when I get back into town.

The first bike my salesman told was arriving this week for me (a Red one) turned out to be a demo and they can't sell...he said their manager is going to try and get one from a dealer they trade with that is a hundred miles away that has two (one demo and one for sale). I should find out tomorrow if I pick it up saturday or if I am in for a wait.

The two with VIN photos appear to be November 2011 and December 2011...

No. Traded in a 2008 Hayabusa.

Where do you guys see a date code in the vin? I have my vin for my 2012 and I know the week and month it was built, but I guess I'm not seeing that in the vin anywhere. How do I decode??

I think the VIN code specification only explicitly provides for model year, not build date. BMW may be using some encoding scheme in the last digits to indicate the build date, but I doubt it.

When people talk about bike build dates, they're usually referring to the build date printed on the same sticker where the VIN is stamped, typically on the steering head. You'll probably have to wait until you get your bike to be able to see the build date.
