Default Akrapovic Slip on Exhaust

Well i found someone on Ebay selling a used in perfect condition Official BMW Akrapovic Slip on Exhaust. I went ahead and took the plunge and bought it and put it on today. It makes the bike look alot better. I am going to take the bike out tomorrow and see how it sounds. I am not taking the bike to the track so i really dont need the full exhaust and PCV and plus i want to keep my warranty( bike has 1200 miles on it and 2 months old). I have been looking at them for a while but wasnt going to spend $1105 on one. I got this one for $450 shipped. I also put on the Stomp tank pads and PUIG windscreen. The bike is starting to look better.

With the cat still on it will not be that much different. I have the full system and it loud might need ear plugs rising this summer.

MY 2007 R1 with a full exhaust is loud and the pipe is under the tail. I kind of like the exhaust no being as loud. If i am ripping it through the hills the cops can hear you miles away. I have one loud and one soft. I probably would have a full exhaust if it didnt void your warranty.

Who ever led you to believe a full exhaust will void your warranty is VERY mistaken. If an issue with your bike is proven to be a result of ANY modification you did to your bike, "yes", that particular incident/claim can be denied... but your warranty remains in tact (in the US).

I usually put a full exhausts on bike to improve HP. I dont feel that HP is a limiting factor on this bike. I had the suspension set up at the dealer when i bought it and it feels good but everytime I ride my 2007 R1, I feel what I am missing out on. Also I have 3 dealers within 4 hours of me and all of them say that BMW wont honor the warranty if a PCV or full exhaust touches the bike. No mod friendly dealers near me.

They have to prove that what you did caused the damage. Your protected by the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and the Consumer Protection Act. I can tell you that BMW has fixed bikes at my dealer with full exhaust and PC5 and one had the cam failure.

You are correct the power is not the limiting factor on this bike ... the weight however is and installing a full exhaust results in a significant loss. Wish there was a way keeping bike quiet and losing the huge boat anchor.

Yeah I have the Akra slipon as well, I really miss the sound of a full exhaust and I wish BMW integrated the Catalytic converter in the exhaust. This way when you remove the stock exhaust, the cat is also gone, then you have a full system.
Does Akra make a baffle if I decide to go all the way? The bike would be crazy is I could shave off at least 7 kilos with the Cat and original headers, it will weigh the same as the CBR 1000rr 08-12. I don't want to imagine how hard the bike will go. I do however want a baffle.

You're warranty will NOT be voided because of a full exhaust. Call BMWNA and they will verify it for you if you're still in denial.
