Default Why hasn't BMW done better in WSB?

I'm new to this stuff....been away for many years actually...why hasn't BMW had success in WSB? Do they have any plans to compete in Moto GP?

No he is not. That's a CRT entry. It's a BMW motor though.

I read a few times that BMW wants to develop thier own electronics instead of using magneti marrelli and that has hindered progress.

That's cool. Even Colin admitted to not know anything about CRT late last season.

To say that BM has only been competing for a small time in WSB I honestly think they've done very very well considering the Japanese have had some 40odd years of racing experience behind them. Yes BM has competed in early years with some sidecar success and one or two other race wins especially at the TT but to enter motorcycle racing at this level in this day and age must be one hell of a challenge. I've nothing but admiration for this firm both for their commitment and dedication to succeed and as soon as they've got the electronics sorted along with tyre longevity I really think that Haslam will pull it out of the bag. They're up there, it's just that final push, which is the worst part.

I thought I read somewhere that they are ditching their proprietary electronics and are going with the Magnetti Marelli system like most if not all other teams. I think for this season they are making the change.

That should changes things up a bit. Hopefully it's true, I'd like for nothing more than to see more podiums.
