Default Yoshimura

I just picked up my 1st BMW. It is the 55th bike I've owned. Since most of the bikes in my past were GSXR's I have a soft spot for Yoshimura.

My question is: Would yoshi stuff on a S1KRR be crazy or am I just over thinking it?

**Please don't bash on me, I'm just looking for public opinion. Thanks everyone.

I have had several Hondas 5 or 6 gixxers and a couple off the mark scoots (sv650s etc) I personally love yosh's product, customer service , and just the general look of their parts but from what my limited BMW experience tells me is that no their products would not be bad to use on the Beemer I myself have their crash protection and fender eliminator but for the parts directly involved with performance(exhaust etc) I would tend to lean toward some of the other brands in my case my next mod is going to be the exhaust and a belly pan my preference being ar so I guess to each his own......Although some of the purists might tell you otherwise

I have Yosh odds and ends on my bike (case protectors, tidy tail, stem nut, bar ends). But when it came to exhaust I went with a name I trust. I'm sure you will get a mixture of opinions tho.

I've got Yoshi sliders and love them. They saved my bike on a low side and got another pair after.

You don't really get bashed here. I have watched people repost topics like they didn't see the first one and ask questions like what's the best oil. And for the most part we all just get along. LOL Now, if you turn into a troll then you get hazed a little bit, but nothing like my former watering holes 1000rr.net and thespeedtriple.com. Over there, you get the smackdown pretty quick.

To answer your question, a yoshi pipe just seams like there is something wrong. LOL

Good luck on your choice.

I have yoshi case savors, drain blugs and bar ends on mine, and I love them! On my last 2 bikes a ninja and CBR6 I didn't have any. Still don't think I'll ever buy a Yoshi exhaust, I don't know why.

Nothing wrong with a Yosh pipe. Quality is amazing and sounds awesome. I was torn between this and the Akra, but I got a smoking deal on the Yosh so that swayed my decision (plus I'm a little biased to parts made in the USA). I have used many Yosh products and have never had a problem. For most of the top exhaust companies out there, a full ti system will all weigh +1 lb of each other and perform +1 hp of each other. Find the one that you like best and don't look back.

One thing to note though, Yosh did have anodizing issues on their aluminum parts last year. They said the 3rd party company that did it for them didn't do it right or use the right chemicals (don't quote me, I'm going from memory). Do a search for Yosh and purple and you'll see a couple threads. I believe Yosh replaced all components for free and most stated they had excellent customer service. I have some of their anodized products and they still look brand new.

My bike was tuned at 5300' elevation...not bad.

As an old yamaha guy myself I kinda had the same question in my mind...I have decided when I do a new exhaust (My 2012 isn't even in yet...next week they tell me...yes!!!) it will be what the factory uses...akropovic....plus I like how they look anyway, and the power they make is top shelf.

BTW the full Akros make either 9 or 11 hp more (can't remember which)...not to pile on but 7 hp isn't very good for a full exhaust, especially when it looks like you have no cat....my 2 cents....looks killer though

Fogot to add this to my last post. Here is a dyno comparison of my Yosh to an Akra on the same dyno, both bikes have similar mods. Yes I know, comparing dyno sheets from different bikes dynoed on different days doesn't mean much, but it does give you a good idea of the expectations.

Red = my bike stock
Blue = my bike, Yosh + tune
Green = other bike, Akra + tune
