I've always had good success with pro-grip grips...

It makes no difference what grips you decided to use, your real questions should be how do I get the stock grips off?

Hate to admit it but, I have a stock grip on the left bar and a different grip on my quickturn throttle. I would love to change it out. Somebody must know a trick. The compressed air trick that I've always used didn't seem to work.

Yeah, I ruined a throttle tube trying to get the grip off. I am back to stock. Very annoying!

Do a search. You will find what you are you need. Basically, you have to cut the stock grips down to the tubes without cutting through the tube. This has to be done on both sides.

During the middle of me taking off the throttle side I actually looked up the price of a new grip only to find that it was over $100. At that point I was re-motivated to getting it off.

Good luck.

Both sides have the plastic throttle tube, so only a throttle side grip will fit the left side.....meaning you have to buy two sets of grips. To get the oem grips off, I used a razor blade to carefully cut a slit down the full length of the grip. I then took a pair of forceps and clamped down on the edge and "rolled" the grip off like the top of a sardine can. Just took my time and used the razor blade to cut at the stubborn points.

I installed Driven Gel Grips.

Good luck with your project.

Thanks for the heads up. I hate to have to buy 2 sets of quality grips to have one useful set and 2 pieces of trash. But you gotta do what you gotta do. And its easier then when I had to take the dermal to my OEM throttle housing so I could attach the switch cluster back on the right clipon.

Get rid the left plastic tube and use only one pair.
