Default Need ideas for upgraded brake rotors to fit my new wheels...

So I bought a set of OZ Cattiva forged mag wheels over the holidays and I'm looking to upgrade the rotors. I'm not a fan of the Galfer wave rotors and wanted to know of any highly recommended options. They need to be bolt-on and retain the ABS ring. They also need to be well priced, so carbon ceramic rotors are out of the question. I have been looking at Spiegler ABM PEAK EVO Rotors ] (floating with carrier)

and Yana Shiki rotors which come in 2 options, stock-style (no carrier) and floating with carrier.

I believe Alpha Racing also makes a nice set of rotors, but I'm not sure if their Alpha Racing Rim rotor will bolt on to the OZ rim or if it's proprietary to their rims.

My goal is to have improved braking and reduce weight to compliment my lighter wheels and tires (Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa, should be lighter than the Continentals by a pound or two). I ride mostly street with a few track-days a year, so iron rotors are not ideal. I'm not up-to-date with the latest brake rotors, and I think having OZ wheels opens up some options that might not be possible with stock rims? So all ideas and comments are welcomed.

Thanks,

Jason

personally i like the look of the alphas the best of the 3. never been a fan of the varying perimeter like the spiegler and that Yana is just too busy for the bikes to me. just my $0.02.

I'm not a brake expert however, I think set of Yana Shiki will compliment the bike and the rims the best, at least looks wise

So far here are the weights I've been able to find:

(all units are in pounds)
Stock F: 2.56 / R: 1.62
Galfer F: 3.06 / R: 1.37
Spiegler F: 2.85 / R: 1.6
Alpha F: 3.13 / R: N/A
Brembo F: 3.30 / R: N/A

I'm waiting to hear back about the Brembos and the Yana Skikis. Weight is not the determining factor, but it will weigh heavily on my decision. The Brembos are .5 mm thicker than stock, so I'm guessing they will weigh the most.

You can also go for titanium rotor bolts. In this way you will reduce further more the rotation mass and compensate the weight of the rotors with carriers.
Check Probolt for ex.
Titanium Disc Bolt BMW001 S1000R Pk x 10

I have always been a fan of Brembo's products. I believe they have a thicker disc but a narrower band. This lets you have a better heat dissipation. Shoot me a PM or email for a price.

Good idea. I'll definitely buy a set. Thanks.

PM sent. Any chance you can weigh a set? I would definitely be interested in some more info.

i believe brembo do two calipers for the oz wheels, the front wheel is actually a ducati wheel with adaptors for the bmw, brembo make a 5.5mm disc that fits the stock wheels (and the oz wheels) and a 6mm narrow band disc that fits the oz wheels only (after you unbolt the adaptors) i have a set of the 6mm discs and a set of galfer i will weigh both and let you know

So stock is the lightest up front so far? Interesting....
