Default Brand New S1000rr

Hi, im a new member as well a new rider, just bought my first bike (brand new S1000 Thunder Gray)
Im very happy with my bike and im curious if i should install the AKRAPOVIC exhaust now or wait for the braking-in period before installing it! Its the racing FULL AKRAPOVIC exhaust.

For a new rider just enjoy the bike. I hope it's not your first bike?

I think he just was expressing his opinion as this bike REALLY POWERFULL (even without full exhaust). My opinion is ride it as it is for a few (3-4) thousands miles, get the feeling, take a few motorcycle safety classes and most importantly take it slow (even if your riding buddies pushing you to go fast). I think S1000RR is great as first bike due to all safety electronics (hope you've got them), however to be able fully appreciate all bike has to offer it is good idea to start with something smaller and simplier, but to each it's own!

Another recommendation I can give you is - get yourself a good leather gear and maybe some armor it will be better investment at this point then an exhaust!!!

In any case CONGRATULATION on your new bike!!! Ride SAFE and SMART!!!

And seriously, buy yourself some gear it will use up your exhaust budget... believe me...

P.S. Regarding your exhaust question, yes you will need PC V (Power Commander 5) or Bazzaz fuel management system with full exhaust. You can find a hand full of topics on this board about full exhaust systems... Use "Search" it helps... a lot...

Its a very good bike but for a first bike its too much.Be really really careful.Try to go to Trackday schools and ALWAYS ALWAYS helmet, leather protection and boots.
It would have been more educational and easier for you to enter the beautiful world of motorcycle with a smaller bike.

Thanks Man for your compassion in share some of your experience!
I do have my safety gear already, when i said beginner i meant on this bike, as you said: She's extremely fast, i actually was gonna buy the 2012 one than i said to my self...... why not start with this one first than ill see if i really need more power than this. For the type of riding i do she's more than enough and i dont know if i was gonna be so happy buying a 2012 because you have no idea how the felling is to work 6 days a week 12 hours a day for 7 years, saving all the money as possible to pay bills and finally get me a toy (my baby s1000rr).
Happy new year buddy.
