Question for you guys...

The CSS has 2 day camps...I understand what the camps are what they provide. But they also have "regular school" running consecutive days at a given location that aren't "camps".

So my questions is can one or should one do Level 1 on say Monday and take Level 2 on Tuesday or does it not work like that? Just trying to understand the mechanics of things and does it make sense for me to attend consecutive days and if I do exactly what to expect.

BTW, never done a track day so this is my first foray into this.

Thx!

2 day camps is where it's at. 14 track sessions in 2 days.

Yup, that is the big difference between taking two classes back to back and doing the 2 day camp. There are less riders also so each coach will only have two students, giving you more one on one time with them. If you can swing it, and the camp isn't full, it is the way to go.

Price is a big factor too, Bengi and I are doing two individual days, We have done trackdays with other groups. But having the school and the sessions improve your riding, The two days camp is more concentrated on you with a coach one on one, and you receive more track time.

some info on CCS

some info on Cornerspeed at VIR.

I should be in CA around that time. I'm gonna try and work the school into my budget as I'd really like to do it, but my budget is pretty stretched already so it might have to wait

Hi there, I'm a coach with the school and have been for the past 8-9 years. To answer your question, YES you can do two consecutive days and do the level one on Monday and Level two the next day. We have students do it all the time and it is a great way to do it. When I did the school as a student I did level one and two back to back and then a few months later did level three and four back to back.

It is great that you will be taking the school as your first track day, it it what I always recommend because it helps give you a nice controlled entrance into the world of track days (be warned you will be ADDICTED!) and it teaches you good proper riding skills right off the back so you don't have to "unlearn" bad habits that you may have picked up along the way.

Two days in a row will be great for you! Have fun and if you have any more questions about the school then just let me know and I'll do my best to answer

Take care,
Misti

Hey Papa,

Sorry to mini hijack the thread but would you mind PM'ing me (to avoid further hijacking the thread) recommendations for hotels for VIR? I'm also going to be at CSS in August for levels 1 and 2. I'm thinking of staying in the track suites but am wondering why CSS didn't list those as options in their welcome packet.
