Default Scorpio Rlink

Was interested in getting this alarm for the new bike. Anyone have experience with this alarm?

They make a wiring harness for the s1k but I'm wondering if that will work on the 2012, and if you get the proximity sensor and ignition kill is that also plug and play? Or do those options have to be wired in?

I have the i800 (I think that's the model). The proximity sensor plugs into one of the connectors on the alarm box. The kill option you would have to wire into the ignition switch (pretty sure). I wouldn't get the kill switch option unless you are paranoid against someone bikejacking you. You already need the correct key for the bike to start. I would get the harness adapter to make installation easier.

Call or email Scorpio with your questions to make sure but I think the adapter should work (I haven't seen a '12 yet so can't say for sure. It is simply tapping into the license plate light for switched power and the rear turn signals for the "flashing" light alarm option.

Removed my rear upper fairing and installed the alarm box on the right side of the subframe rail. Leaves the "trunk" free for other things.

I have the rLink and love it. I use the information from this post:

Scorpio Alarm Install

I did not use the wiring harness, just spliced into the tail light since the harness was not available in May 2011. Also, I taped(double-sided) the cellular antenna to inside tail fairing close to the tail light. I would call Scorpio, I assume the harness should work but nobody would know. To tell you the truth, if you order the alarm from most sites, they give you the harness for free.
