Default 12v power tap?

So who knows where the best (or most convenient) place is to tap into the 12v supply being after the ignition that's unlikely to invalidate any warranty? Any guesses?

Is this is a test?

I tapped mine directly at the battery and then went into a relay that gets triggered from the license plate light wire (ignition).

It is a plug that sits under your fairing and is intended for the BMW laptimer receiver... but can be used for other things (low draw).

Why oh why is the live wire coloured green at the numberplate light? Seriously, the brown coloured wire would be a better choice seeing as that's the colour for the live wire in wall plugs and green is the earth wire.

Sometimes BMW astounds me about their way of thinking. Well it's in and it works now so mission accomplished.

It is not a wall, it is a motorcycle.

Actually they have been using these color codes for probably 20 years now. I believe the same colors are used on their autos as well. Most bike makers have their own color codes and from what I remember ground and hot are usually different from one manufacturer to another.

BMW uses brown for ground. Green is "switched" power--may also have a tracer color along with the green which indicates something else as well.
