Default Hayabusa Owners - Current And Former

To current and former Hayabusa owners:

How does a 'Busa feel, in terms of sheer acceleration, in comparison to the S1000RR?

I know what the numbers say but I'm just curious to hear what people who have owned both bikes feel. (I own an '11 S1000RR and am thoroughly satisfied with it. Prior to buying the S1000RR I always wanted to ride a 'Busa but never had the opportunity to do so.)

Ergonomically and power delivery...It torches the S1 by a looooong shot. Imagine riding a very very fast couch, no matter how you sit on it, there is always an elevated degree of comfort. It had power all over the powerband due to a large displacement (duh) and gearing. S1 is however quicker in acceleration, 0-to top end (stock to stock of course). Handling is very exceptional even though mine was stretch 6" over, it wasn't no Ducati going around corners but it never made me nervous either. I had to sell it due to deployment and lack of storage space. Here is a pic of it.

As for that filter hanging off the side...Don't worry about that little fella

Since I have yet to receive my 2012 RR, I can't compare other than to speculate. I've ridden an 06' Limited Edition Busa for the past 2+ years and it's a great bike. The acceleration is brutal and the torque is always on top. People say they can't handle, but I've never had an issue. I've had a great time with it.

I've owned two Busa's and really like them. In the twisties with a stock swing arm they're a decent and fun bike but not close to the S1 and a lot more work in the tight stuff. They accelerate well with a big broad power band but to me it doesn't feel as explosive as the S1. The Busa to me is smoother in the vibration department and ergonomically more comfortable in every way. Straight line stability? It is so good I swear you could serve coffee a triple digit speeds. If you like making more HP there is nothing better than building a Busa, they're a strong, tough and a very reliable engine to work with. I live in the mountains and enjoy the S1 more for where I ride but if I spent more time on straighter roads or was still drag racing I would still have the Busa. Excuse the pipe I was still saving up for a muffler!

That sounds about right. I enjoy the twisties and therefor decided to jump to the BMW camp simply because it has comparable power and all the handling one would expect from a bike of it's caliber. Add on all the electronics that Suzuki isn't doing, and it was an easy decision to make.

My previous bikes were a ZX14 and cbr1000rr. The s1000rr is a whole new beast.
