Default Heat Gear battery cable runs... Where do you have it?

So I have my first liner and about to put it in... Where do you run your power cable? I'm about to put it so that it exits right out the back of the seat. I feel on the side will get in the way? Thoughts?

I assume you are using a BatteryTender type SAE connector with a rubber cap?

I run it down to the top of the left frame rail, and zip tie it there with about 2" of the end free.

I have Gerbing gear and bought a 4" extension from SAE to cylinder type barrel connector that Gerbing uses.

Most heated jackets have the cord on the left side. If you get on and off your bike on the left side it will safely fold inside your left leg. And if you step back from the bike without disconnecting first, the barrel connector just disconnects itself with no harm.

My power cable coming from the battery exits out the left rear side of the seat. Be sure to leave out at least a couple of inches (Gerbing's manual says 2 - 3") of the battery harness from the seat. Otherwise the cable connecting the jacket liner to it can become disconnected which is what happened to me midway through my first ride with my heated gear. (I resolved this by just pulling on the battery harness so that more length came out from under the seat as the entire harness had not been strapped down at that time.)
When you're going riding just remember to plug in your heated gear to the battery harness after you've started the bike and prior to getting off the seat. (For the initial testing of the electrical connections I did not start the bike.)

The newer Gerbing's heated gear come with COAX cables. If your using a battery tender with SAE connections you can get a COAX to SAE adaptor and hook it up to your tender (Gerbing's Controller Adapter Cord (COAX to SAE) - RevZilla)

Revzilla has a lot of videos including those for hooking up heated gear Gerbings Heated Motorcycle Gear Connection Guide at RevZilla.com - YouTube.
