Default Winter Storage

For those who are storing their bikes over the winter, do you guys make sure there is carpet underneath the bike while it sits for a couple months??

Do you mean to prevent flat spotting the tires? Honestly I think I would just add a couple PSI to the tires, and I think you should be fine.

Stands are my first choice year around but if that's not an option I do put something between the tires and the concrete and add a few PSI to the tires then check them as well as roll them monthly. The good thing for us is these tires don't last us for years so most likely we'll never see the ill effects of improper tire storage.

couple of old rugs under my 2 street bikes, poor little wr250r has to sit on the cold concrete but the S1RR is also up on front and rear stands all three bikes are plugged into a Batt tender+ when not in use.
when I get a chance to ride the last thing I want is a bike that wont crank.

1st

optimate.

2nd

wash the bike very well and polish and lubricate everything and anything with your trusted products then ride untill hot!!!!

3rd

put back in your garage on stands (preferably a frame mounted stand) and bung you exhaust with oily rag.

4th

cover with good quality (seal-able if possible) cover..

5th

now if your mega anal you can drain fuel but in my opinion just fill the tank up and it will be perfect..

think thats about as far as is needed

also changing oil isnt a bad idea but again not extremely necasary

Trackbike Winter Storage...

Most of the tips apply to street bikes, too.

That was my original line of thinking but ya I just need to go out and buy a front stand, I already have the rear.
