Default Man Down! or Bang, crash, ouch!

Got wiped out this morning by a car not looking and pulling into my lane and straight into me and my s1000rr. Down we went. Luckily good clothing, boots, back protector and air bag vest did their job and saved me from anything worse than a broken collar bone.

Sadly the s1000 went bouncing down the road and I don't yet know the damage.

All my upper body clothing was cut off in hospital. Though it was pleasing to see that it took 3 pairs of industrial scissors to cut through everything

Oh well, look on the bright side, got a deposit for a 2012 model.

Ride safe.

Rich.

Fook dude! Sounds like you took a beating. You could be a poster boy for the reason to wear protective clothing. Glad you survived without too much trauma.

Yeah, feeling a bit beat up now. Even the booze and painkillers aren't working too well. I'll feel better in a few days.

Interesting to note that the A and E consultant (himself a biker) said the air bag vest saved me from severe neck and spinal injuries. The marks on my helmet indicated a shearing effect on my neck which the air bag prevented by immobilising my head.

Bike was on it's side for a while still running and i couldn't get to it to shut it down. Hope the drop sensor did its job.
