Talking 2012's currently in the USA!!

Just got back from my dealership & was informed that there are a bunch of 2012 S1000RR's in New Jersey!! I couldn't believe my ears Apparently they are just sitting there waiting to be dispersed for the official release in January There is only a limited number at this point & they don't have enough to fulfill all the dealer allotments yet...another reason why they are being held there I guess. I was bummed that it also "appeared" the first batch of bikes did not have heated grips ...

I would not post unless my source was reliable & I can tell you my dealer has been nothing but honest and up front from the get-go. They really seem to be ahead of the curve & on top of things at Long Beach BMW. I couldn't be happier with them thus far..

Looks like my screen name will be out of date come January!! Whoooeeee!! I just hope they're wrong about the heated grips haha

My dealer had also said something about that. He didn't go into much detail though. I do know that mine has yet to be built. Don't matter to me being as how I have a good 4 months before its warm enough to even ride.

Sweet! I'm glad others are hearing this too! I live in Cali & can ride year 'round..so ya, I'm pumped & want it as early as possible before I have to go on tour and it has to sit in the garage! haha

I have seen three 2012's in the 'flesh' The red is nice but I particularly loved the cobult blue.

Loved the new tail section but not convinced about the side wings on the front fairings.

Oh, and they feel exactly the same to sit on.

This thread reminds me of the very first threads on this forum, when there were NO bikes in the country and we were tracking freighters across the Atlantic. And then the long wait in Jersey before they mysteriously were released and arrived at the dealers.

If there is a pattern here, I bet you won't see them until February . But I'll spread hope for you that it's sooner than that.

Congrats to you guys who ordered and are waiting for your brand new 2012 RRs. It brings back memories I had as well with a 9-month wait. It was worth it. Hang tough.

^^^^ What Rainman said... very good point. The excitement that goes along with the wait is awesome isn't it

I saw the first 3 bikes brought into Aus. They were at BMW headquarters being pre-delivered and are going to be used for media/display bikes.

Was interrested to see that none of them were shod with K3's.

BTW, I tried to take a photo of them but was told very adamently..."NO".
