Scotts Steering Damper - Customer Service ROCKS!!
Thought I'd share a story... I am running a Scotts steering damper on my race bike (R6). I had a spare in the box that had been rashed up REALLY bad. It had basically skidded down the track on it's lid. Top cap was rashed bad, the adjustment knob was bent, it leaked - basically REALLY jacked up.
So not too long ago, I picked up a dirt bike, I thought it sure would be nice to have a steering damper on there, but didn't feel like parting with the $450-$500 for a new Scotts. So I sent the rashed up one off to them. They took it apart and it was pretty well jacked up inside too. We discussed options, I told them if they had cosmetically flawed caps and the like, that would be fine with me. Heck I didn't mind if it had a pink top cap... just wanted it to work. So they went to town, found a cosmetically flawed top cap, fixed her all up, had to put all new high/low speed valving in it too because I was going to use it on a dirt bike (switched the valving from street valving to dirt valving). Also ended up buying a new mounting kit for the dirt bike (since I didn't have one). Out the door price including shipping was less than 1/2 that of a new one. And basically it is brand new (functionally). Could have been more but because I didn't mind the cosmetics, they hooked me up the best they could.
The guys over there ROCK. Shout out to Steve w/Scotts!!!
