Default Shift Assist/Quick Shifters Options

Hi Guys,

I lowsided at the track and broke my left rear set together with the Shift Assist rod. The rod broke between the sensor and where it attaches to the shift pedal.

Heard that BMW only sells the complete rod/sensor assembly and it retails for around 550.00 usd. Here in Brazil it retails for around 2K usd at the dealer (not an option, but can get one from the US).

should I try and find someone that might be there selling their used OEM rod and sensor ?

Would an aftermarket Quick Shifter like Bazzaz or HM work with a 2011 equipped previously with a stock Shift Assist ?

Thanks a lot guys.

Thanks man, but the part that broke is the link just before the sensor between the rear set and the sensor.

I already contacted kyle and I will send a pic tomorrow to see if they can help me.

If you can find one used, great... but if the price isn't REALLY good, I'd buy an aftermarket for sure

Can I make it work in a bike that comes with the Shift Assist stock, without problems ?

Which one would you recommend ?

Thanks.

I've used DynoJet quick shifters on my race bikes (R6's) and they seem fine. But if I were looking at a new one for the BMW, I would also look seriously at the Annitori

Thanks man, Annitori is definitely my first choice if I chose to go to a stand alone unit. I might also consider the bazzaz QS once I have no fuel management system in the bike.

The Annotori is an excellent option to go with if you can't find a used OEM unit. I posted a want ad here on the forum and ran across someone who had 2 OEM systems off of their race bikes and bought one. I don't remember the user, I'll check my files when I get home. He may still have the other one for sale.
