Default Frame slider delimma: R&G or Vortex?

OK, I need some opinions and expect the feedback to be like oil and tire choices, so I'm ready to get pounded with responses. So here's the delimma, I recently purchased new Vortex frame sliders with short pucks for the S1000RR and installed them. I paid around $85 total for them. Shortly after that, I found a deal on new R&G frame sliders (Aero style and retails for $110) and picked those up figuring I'd sell which ever one I decide not to keep. So does the old saying "you get what you paid for" apply here and the R&G are better because they cost more? I don't need both so I'll be looking to sell a set after I determine which ones are better, based on your opinion. I just hope I don't have to test out which ever one I keep, but it's better to have something, than nothing at all. What do you have on your bike(s) and what's your opinion on either brand with any experience "testing" it out for durablity in a crash?

I've "tested" several sliders over the years and have found that for the most part they are the same. I'm sure that if you put them in a mechine and tested them you would find out one is stronger then the other, but both should do what the promise. Reduce damage to your bodywork for ONE lowside. All bets are off on a highside or endo.

I'm amazed with a few trackday buddies not replacing thier slider(s) after a crash when they are clearly worn down from road rash. I've pointed out several times it will result in bodywork damage on the next crash and be more costly to repair than replacing the slider/puck with a new one. I will say I do like the Vortex having replaceable pucks should the bolt and base survive a crash. Pucks run about $20 each which is cheaper than replacing the whole thing.

Much cheaper. Although the otherones do look nice. I just ordered some (w/gold base) for my non track riding and will just swap them out for trackdays where I am more apt to have to use them. Hopefully I never will use them but I know better.

R&G's Quality is AMAZING!
The Aero look is a plus, too...
