Default Heli Bar Help

Searched all over this forum. Just received new Heli Bars. Do I still need to order two sets of Driven SBK grips to fit the clutch side or will one set work with Heli Bars? I'm open to suggestion if someone has an alternate to Driven Grips.

Your answer is yes, you need 2 pair of grips.

I have the Heli Bars and they are great

I'm a little confused...thinking about ordering the Helibars based on excellent past experience with finish and fit. Do you have to replace grips when installing them or can you use the stock BMW grips?

BMW mounts the clutch grip on a plastic tube like the throttle side, so no issues moving them over to the helibars. Which is good if you're happy with the stock grips, because getting the grips off those tubes is a huge PITA, especially on the throttle side. Most of us have practically had to grind them off.

There are several long helibar threads on this forum.

Perfect....thank you. I had to remove and re-glue the clutch side on the last bike. Sounds even simpler here.

Simple enough once you drill the bars to accept the screws that BMW uses to hold the grips/controls in place.
I had a little trouble getting it all tight but all is well now.

Will tackle the grips next.

The short answer is no. If you are just swapping out the stock clipons for the helibars, you do not have to buy grips.

I also don't think you need to drill anything.
