Default swap 2011 for 2012

Hi, any thought to how much it would cost me to swap my 2011 with 8k miles for a new 2012 with the local dealer (Connecticut)? (Bike is mint.) If the cost is reasonable, I think I will do it. I don't want to deal with finding a buyer if I can avoid it. If the dealer needs to make a profit on the selling of the 2011, I wonder how much that would be?

NADA says $10.6K for a "premium" S1000RR. Not sure what the means to tell you the truth. I booked my 2010 and it came in at 9,800 trade in, but it also said MSRP on a 2010 was $13,800. And that is for the base model, whereas mine is the R/W/B with all the upgrades... so I'd guess once it's all said and done, my 2010 would book about $14,900 retail and $11,400 trade in...

So I'd guess your trade in would be closer to $13K

I got 11.3 for my 2010 from a non BMW dealer. BMW dealer wanted to give me 8 or 9k. I dont remember. And I was trying to buy the Ducati from them. Thats the love they showed me. I had 9300 miles on the bike at the time (July 2011).

Needless to say I said thanks but no thanks.

Hi, its interesting that the retail vs trade in shows $3,500 difference. That seems like an awful lot. Thanks for the information.
