Default Private road video with some friends

Hey guys. We had a sort of track day on a private road. There is very little footage taken by my mates son, so I stretched and slowed it for fun. (Only my second time editing video - be kind) We had a ball but I kept getting flagged for being too loud so I had to short shift past the video, which was where the sound meter was.

My brother and I were the only ones on road bikes in our group. If you look carefully you will also see my lowside. (last session, wasn't pushing it, don't know why I lost the front, was still warming up the tyres)
I have the original footage and another road video if anyone wants to see, I will post up.

P.S if anyone knows how to embed on this post, go for it. I couldn't do it, or let me know & I will update.

Here you go. This shows some of the original footage

Thanks Don.

3:22 but you will need to squint or watch on larger view to see it.

AhhhSHIT... yeah saw it there... That sucks. That's your S1, right? Can't tell much from that video as to what caused you to tuck the front, but usually it is caused from:
  • Lack of heat in the tires (wrong pressures or not allowing them to heat up enough - or both)
  • Trail braking too deep and too hard into a turn
  • Worn tires
  • Poor body postion

...or some combination of them.

How bad is the bike? Pics?

EDIT: I'd also add, that it looked like in that hard left hander that the video was shot a bit on... it looked like most of the bikes in that turn might have been going in a little too early instead of late apexing it. Hard to tell what the previous asphalt (and/or turns) looked like leading up to that turn, so that puts a little uncertainty to my thoughts... but all else being equal, it wasn't till the last few runs at that turn did it look like the bikes were starting to get a better line through it, but even then still looked a tad early. Could have been the camera angle too.

Still a mystery. I was on a set of fresh q2s. During the day was cool and a bit of rain here and there but overall traction was good. I had the rear hanging out a few times and even threw me out of the seat once, but that lap I was just cruising waiting for my brother as we were being staggered released.

Earlier there was a bike leaking brake fluid from another group and given the instant loss I am a little suspicious but highly unlikely the cause, in the end I accept it could have been some other reason including cold tires or more likely rider error.

The bike came out suprisingly well. I didin't have frame sliders but my Yoshi case saver and Attack rear sets did a great job. Bit of rash on the side and upper fairing and need to replace my lever tip. Felt like the bike and myself were sliding forever. I even had time to turn myself over from front onto my rear during the slide. Pics attached

You are probaby right. Everyone was a bit tentative. New track for all, quite narrow, no run off and the video on that corner was taken in the earlier part of the day.
