Default 2012 $15,050.00 includes ABS

BMW has posted this as the price for the 2012 RR on their web site. I don't know how much of an increase that is over 2011 because they are including ABS. Does anyone have the pricing for the 2011's and options?

Thanks
Bruce

dtc and abs were offered together as a 'safety package' for 1500$. I don't know how they split up individually. The base price with nothing was like 13.5k or so.

so it depends on how much dtc is to figure it out, if dtc not part of the 2012 package.

I agree with you I thought the ABS/DTC was a package. On the BMW site they state the ABS and traction control comes together, so if that is correct then the price may have come down a little. This is taken right from the BMW official page.

hmm...veddy interesting. It appears that number is the only thing they've added to the website. It would've been nice to list the official options & their prices, dontcha think? Now we are all wondering about the DTC & where that sits in the added cost..doh!

That of course is USA pricing (not sure about Canada and Mexico). US still gets a much lower price than the rest of the world. Fortunate for us but not for everyone else.

--Race ABS included in base price.
--Race ABS with DTC is optional accessory--$495
--Heated grips option is $250. This is a great option and an excellent price. I put heated grips--BMW grips from a K1200GT--and it probably cost more than that even with 10% above cost for parts and no labor because I did them myself.
--Shift Assistant (quickshift)--$450
--Alarm is $395.
--Motorsports color option--$750

In the US there will be a "Premium" package that will include ABS/DTC and shift assistant for $15,995. This is no deal as it is the price of each accessory added to the base price.

For 2012 all BMWs are coming "stock" with ABS. I believe it was about $1,000 on the previous models so the base price has increased by that amount.

DTC is not included with the base model. The wording on the BMW website is confusing at best--possibly even misleading. I am sure it will be changed to be more clear in the future.
There is no way to order DTC without ABS. The ABS unit translates the data from the wheel speed sensors from analog to digital and sends the info to the ECU for further use. Remove it and DTC won't work.

--Alarm is $450 on most BMWs so probably the same for the S.
--Motorsports color option is probably the same additional cost--$750?

All great assumptions there bud.

The 2010 models were offered with ABS alone but very few dealers ordered them that way. Traction control, which did require ABS, was an additonal option.

There were probably more models sold without ABS, than with ABS as a stand alone option. It makes sense, from a corporate view, to add it as standard equipment, as this ensures additional profit for BMW and the dealers.

I think the new 2012 pricing is about a couple hundred dollars more.

I think the dollar/euro exchange rate may have helped/will help some.
