S1K vs ZX10R
I really enjoy the back and forth "conversations" when somebody sees that their favorite toy has been challenged! I personally own 4 motorcycles, the oldest is a 36 year old cafe racer, the next one is a 1997 CBR1100xx Turbo, a 2000 model RC51, and the 2010 BMW. You all know what??
THERE ALL FUN!!!

That's actually quite a nice collection of bikes, Mike! And just to add my 2 cents, I've also enjoyed all the bikes I've owned. Just about vehicle with 2 wheels and a motor is fun.

bike to beat.
And as for looks, I think that the S1000RR has the Kawasaki beat hands down! Just my opinion of course.

I think that using slick mode on public roads with street tires for a "street riding" comparison is irresponsible to say the least. The owners manual states that it is to be used with slick tires and in a track environment. For motorcycle.com to bring up the snatchy throttle response of slick mode in a street review really knocks down some of their credibility in my book. They're obviously having to try pretty hard to find any negatives here.

That is a great collection of sportbikes, Mike. I personally haven't ever ridden a motorcycle that wasn't fun!
Although when two bikes built for the same exact purpose get compared and one of the is deemed superior for that purpose, that's OK, too. At least it makes for interesting reading.
No one stays on top forever.

If you're on this forum, you're already a motorcycle 'freak'
And I'm not sure how many of us here can 'truly' take advantage of the split second performance differences of the two bikes compared (don't all of you start writing me how great you are, I'm sure there's exceptions here but we're ALL the best in our own minds and this was a STREET review!) - I have a 2010 S1K, and LOVE it, would I be happy on the Kawi too? From a performance/handling standpoint - Probably. However, and though beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I don't think the general public could tell the difference between a 2005 Ninja and the 2011 model...both 'green and say Ninja'...no one looks at the differences in front end, BP forks, etc., nor cares. Whereas I get CONSTANT attention riding a BMW sport bike - it's still 'new' in the eyes of the public and there aren't near the number of them on the road. Each of us determines what 'looks' better...but I LIKE the fact it's DIFFERENT than the rest personal opinions aside.

I'd have to go with the non rider theory. I don't know if the Akra race exhaust on the Kawi from the video is much different but on the ZX-10R forum a 2011 with the Arrow Full Dynoed 178 (164 stock). Those # say a lot for the exhaust but not much for a company claiming 200hp stock.
