Well Corser did get a top 5 finnish so that's not bringing up the rear is it ?

In superstock s1000rr is winning races so thats a better comparison than WSB.
WSB race bikes have verry little in common with the street bikes.
The Yamaha R1 didn't win the championchip last year Ben Spies did and his bike has pretty much nothing in common with the standard R1.

When Toseland won his last WSB title he was riding a 100000£ Ten Kate Honda. Race tuning + skilled rider won the title when the Blade was way behind the others as a street bike. The -08 blade was a huge improvement to the old model but not a winner in WSB. Comparing full factory racebikes to those we ride at the street is pointles.

Good post. I've recently started following WSBK and MotoGP and thought they only raced prototypes in GP. I'll try to keep up with WSS now.
