When I called by my dealer on Monday to see if there was any news on my HP4, I looked around and thought they don't have many bikes in here, for the height of summer, and there were no second hand bikes outside. I wondered if they were closing down. Didn't think to ask the question though.
I just heard on the grapevine that they are closing down at the end of December, and the BMW bike franchise is being taken over by one of the local Honda dealers.
So, could this be why they haven't been able to give me a delivery date?
Will the Honda dealer get any allocation of HP4s?
All these and many more questions will be posed by me when I get in there tomorrow!
I would imagine if they are taking over the BMW dealership all of their inventory will be carried out after ownership change and how the deal was structured. BMW doesn't have a revolving credit with dealerships. The dealerships have to pay for the bike once it is in their "Que". Your HP4 was already for, They probably just have to straighten up a few loose ends. You will be fine
I just got a call from the new dealer. Martin at Honda/Ducati World in Adelaide (soon to be renamed Adelaide Moto), to say he had checked up on my HP4. It is just being completed at the factory, and will be with me in 7 weeks. It is a long journey by ship to Australia!
Good that the new dealer is on the ball and can actually get info out of BMW. :-)

Mine on 28th of Nov, said to be manufactured in Jan and delivered around March. We will see lol. Congratz on the news of your upcoming blue blooded horse :thumbup:

Looks like mine will turn up almost exactly on my birthday, so that'll make my wife happy - she'll tell me it is my present. :-)
Well, the birthday came and went with no present. Exactly 7 weeks ago today my dealer said that BMW promised that I would have the bike parked in my garage within 7 weeks, and they still can't give me an updated ETA.
The last I heard, the boat was meant to dock in Sydney last Thursday, but they can't even confirm that!
