Does the wiring harness actually just plug into the BMW harness, no splices required? Or is this just hype? Where does it tie into the harness?
If this is as advertised, I like what I hear.

Last I checked when I called Scorpio is that you need to splice and they will "likely" never get the plug in due to the CanBus system

It is not because it is CAN BUS but because the BMW gets their connectors from Tyco and they are not offered anywhere. We can't even get them at the BMW shop. We can get quite a few but not all.
You need to splice in on the rear turn signals and an ignition "hot" lead so that the alarm turns off when you key on the ignition. And power and ground go to the battery as well but those aren't spliced.
I have the 800 model--no pager. Make sure you get the "proximity" sensor. No problems with mine so far. Had to change the battery in the FOB once so far but that is it. Works great. Install is not too difficult. I put mine to the right side of the subframe rail. Leaves room under the passenger seat and keeps it out of plain sight and a little more difficult to get to for a thief.

Not that i want to go back and forth but that doesn't make sense. Connectors are FREQUENTLY custom made to adapt to different components. Also this is what scorpio said specifically.

plug and play
I emailed Scorpio about OEM connector for S1000 and here is their reply:
"We are working on that connector now. Depending on the production time of the connectors and availability of components, it may be available anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months."
Thank you.

Scorpio SRi-800
I have read a lot of comments about the install of the 900 alarm but not much about the quality. I recently installed the 800 on my bike and I am not impressed at all. The worst part of this alarm which I think is the same as the 900 is the siren. It is way too quiet. I had a DEI alarm on my last bike and it was way louder. Due to the siren alone I would not recommend these alarms. The second most disappointing thing about this alarm is the RFID. With the remote in my pocket, standing next to the bike, putting the remote and antenna about 6 inches away from each other I have still had the alarm go off on me. Luckily as said before, the alarm is very quiet so it was not that annoying. The third thing that is horrible with this alarm is the perimeter sensor. Sometimes it goes off when you are 4 feet away and sometimes it will not go off if I am waiving my hand over it. There really isn't any fine tuning it because the detection varies so much. The only positive thing I can say for this alarm is that the install was very easy. I had it installed in less than a half an hour. I assume that since both alarms appear to use the same perimeter sensor and siren that the issues are common to both units.
