The stock axle was received yesterday by Mettec. It will take a few days for them to get measurements. I asked them to add a hole on the end for a safety pin.
Not yet. Could work on a group buy if enough people are interested. Seems like only a handful of people on here appreciate the value of these performance parts.
I talked with my machinist this morning about making Titanium axles for our bikes. He is the same one machining my Shift Solution. He does quite a lot of work for the military, so he can do some very precise work. He said to bring him an axle to measure up and he would give me a price. We can buy Titanium direct from the manufacture here in Oregon, so that might help on the cost. We wouldn't need to do to many of them to be cost effective. I think around 10 pcs would be enough. I should mention that he has taken an interest in these motorcycle parts although he doesn't ride.
That's defiantly an option. I have used Mettec in the past for my other bikes and
could not be happier. Some of the Ti parts they make are jewelry quality.
The S1000/HP4 axle is very similar to the GSXR.
So I was just pricing raw Titanium for axles. It's not to bad for a group. It would be about $130 each for enough bar for 7 units. That's just material cost and it is solid rod. I'm still trying to find a grade 5 tube.

Reason: Clarify my comments: $130 each
